Dear John

"Dear John" is a small puzzle game that plays out similarly to old point & click games, even though it is in first person. Your objective is to acquire all the objects listed on the back of the letter before the clock strikes 7PM, so go and explore the small town! Examine everything you find, as it could yield valuable hints to where you could find the next object on the list. Collect all those objects and assemble the weird machine on the town square to save the world! ...Maybe.

I planned and conceptualized the gameplay and interactions together with Nick Brankers, but modelled the assets in Blender and developed the game in Unreal Engine Blueprints myself. The initial concept for "Dear John" was created for the Virtus Winter Game Jam 2018, but in 2020 we rebuilt the game from the ground up.
