About Me

I am an aspiring XR Developer studying "Expanded Realities" at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, Germany. While my focus lies in programming, I have also done some 3D modeling for my projects. I am good at creative problem solving and eager to work with new technologies. Keen on learning new skills and ways of working, I enjoy re-imagining game mechanics and participating in collaborative projects.

Who am I?

How I got into to the field of XR

I got into Expanded Realities in 2020, more or less by accident and with barely any prior knowledge about the world of XR. However, I quickly grew fond of this new technology and its possibilities.

During my past six semesters of studying Expanded Realities , I took courses on various topics including, but not limited to: General Development Principles, Software Design Patterns, Experience Design for XR, Scientific Writing, Modelling Principles, Creative Idea Generation, Software Development for AR and VR, Electronics and Physical Interfaces, Project Management and Design Thinking.

And now, after finishing my third AR project, I am certain that I want to continue in this area. In my opinion, AR for entertainment in the form of video games has never been done well so far, but that does not mean there is no chance, just that it seems very difficult to get right. This is why, in its current state, I see the future of AR in marketing, visualization and utility.

Working with me

I am a generally quick learner and thrive on obtaining new knowledge and skills. After receiving a task or goal, I can work well autonomously, yet I face no difficulty discussing solutions in a team, as I can both adapt to other’s points of view and stand my ground.

Keeping my work-life balance in check

In my free time I like to meet up with friends to play tabletop roleplaying games and in my opinion, improvised collaborative storytelling is a nice practice to allow the mind to wander, something we rarely have time for in this busy world. Furthermore, I enjoy analyzing video game mechanics and bugs in order to learn more about how they function. Lastly, I am passionate about design, as I think nothing disrupts a well-crafted experience more than unintuitive or incoherent design.
